Rise of the Raven by Robin John Morgan.

This is without doubt, his best story to date, a wonderfully dark and powerful story, of love and betrayal. Written as a stand alone novel, which can be read by anyone, it is also a must read for any series followers of his series Heirs to the Kingdom.
