He's honestly ought to go to sleep right now. It's been several hours past midnight and he wasn't even sure how much. The man had been drinking his own thoughts away under the shadow of the building, looking at the cloudless skies. He stopped smoking about an hour ago. At least that's the amount of time he can estimate since he didn't have his phone or watch on hand.

             ❝  haha, my bad  —  ❞  noticeably, he sounds a bit distracted, voice low and tight, a combination of the weight of her foot on his chest and his best attempts to stay focused on her face and nothing else.  it was probably a bit too late to try to play the gentleman  —  especially since he did break into her house, sort of  —  but he didn’t want to be too shameless, for once.

            even though every instinct in him is begging him to ask her if she wants to punish him for it.  even though he’s already imagining the many different ways this could go in his head and it all involves her just like this and him  ‘  making it up  ’  to her.

            (  and, yes, he does sneak a peek eventually.  and, gods, is she beautiful, especially after forcing him to the ground and training that glare on him;  there’s definitely a bit of a thrill that shoots through him, a bit of warmth blooming across his cheeks and some shifting underneath her to try to get more comfortable  —  probably the exact opposite reaction than she wants  ).

He had heard the rumors, tales of a monster nearby. And yet, these tales are a tad different from the ones Yoriichi normally hears--it is other hunters that whisper warnings and rumors, but the villagers? The oldest or most knowledgeable among them speak of wool and meat, farmers selling their wares, not monsters. Rumors circulating, seemingly with little to base them on, except the villagers themselves.

It’s a strange sort of disconnect. It makes the samurai suspicious.

And so, he has found his way to the farm. A quiet presence, seemingly with no intent to harm. For the moment, merely observing, seeing what he may find.

“Uwah! Eikichi come back!” A bell jungles as the tabby darts down the sidewalk. In tow is Kazuma, sprinting after the feline with hands outstretched. “What’s gotten into you Eikichi!” He calls to the cat, as if she would stop to explain why she had to wiggle out of his arms and take off.

He gains on her as they turn a corner with a lone person walking the path. But once Eikichi nears the stranger, she makes a sharp U-turn and jumps. Claws dig into the back of his head as he falls back with a cat on his face. She scampers but before she can jump away he’s got her by the scruff of her neck.
