X is for.. - - - XASTHUR - SUBLIMINAL GENOCIDE An incredible opportunity to meet and purchase this monumental record from @lord_bonte. (quick plug) *go to his page @lord_bontes_records_and_tapes to check out all the neat records, tapes and tshirts he has for sale, you might find that gem you've always been looking for!* As for this here masterpiece from the one and only @xasthur_scott, it's an immersive and emotional trip from start to finish. Xasthur continues to take me to places I never thought existed, even after the deeply respectable genre change. Seeing him and his crew live recently in denver, as well as speaking with him after the show is an unforgettable experience. But pre-acoustic switch, Subliminal Genocide is my favorite piece of material Scott produced. Writhing and hateful screams over wailing walls of guitars whisk you away to an underworld of black tar. Deep choruses drive tracks into incredible moments of speed that just OOZE self-loathing. I seriously can't get over it, and will always and forever love it. You put to music with what I feel, and fail to vocalize; seriously, thank you @xasthur_scott for everything. Especially new and even old. W is for.. - - - WARHAMMER 48K - UBER OHM Despite being described as nothing more than Indy rock/art rock on discogs, this is an incredibly heavy release featuring so many different elements that can be found in a lot of extreme metal heavy weights. But instead of it sounding forced, or uninteresting, it really comes through as a passionate album. V is for.. - - - VANUM - REALM OF SACRIFICE Melodic black metal within a seal of rocks and crashing waves. A very physically heavy record that includes some really cool printed posters. Each featuring different landscapes and moments of beauty within nature. Large as hell too. U is for.. - - - UNCLE ACID & THE DEADBEATS - BLOOD LUST The "deviantart" days of my artistic career brought many highs, but just as many lows. Though, through many friendships and discoveries made on there, the track "withered hand of evil" on this here record came into my life. Everything changed when I viewed this picture disc on the wall of @twistandshoutdenver. One of the best 80's themed doom bands out there, and quite honestly the best with this specific output. The sold out live experience I enjoyed just a few years later was a treat, as the openers were @danavaband, a great way to start the show. I'm not as huge of a fan of their latest releases, but uncle acid still has me under a spell with this LP. #uncleacidandthedeadbeats #bloodlust #doom #abcmetalchallenge

R is for.. - - - THE RUINS OF BEVERAST - RAIN UPON THE IMPURE One of the greatest black metal records EVER produced. And by just one guy! It's hard to put to words the form of impact this record has on me. From the angelic and funeral choruses that seep and then blare loudly through blunt and brutal guitars, to slow and awe inspiring moments of clarity. Q is for.. - - - !!DOUBLE TROUBLE!! INQUISITION - INVOKING THE MAJESTIC THRONE OF SATAN & DØDSENGEL - INTEREQUINOX So unfortunately I don't own any records that have a band starting with Q, or album starting with Q. BUT! I'm relinquishing all of my "album starts with" freebies for TWO records that have a "q" in the band name and/or the album title! So on with the music! Inquisition is one of those bands that I've seen a bunch of times, and they've only gotten better. The set list was grabbed during their @decibelmagazine tour, and was honestly the best performance I've seen from them so far "BREAK THE CHALICE!" Dødsengel is a band I just recently came across and really dig for what they do with the atmospheric sound they produce. K is for.. - - - KRIEG - THE BLACK HOUSE Regarded often as one of the greatest black metal records ever released, I can hear why. Raw, emotional, US black metal; it's like fucking lightning in a bottle. KRIEG manages to hit all the marks for me in what I look for in a project of this caliber. Can't quite remember where I managed to pick this up at, but I'm leaning towards the Angelo's location in Aurora.
