The peace of Abbots Langley was shattered on Monday (19 February) evening when a disturbing incident of arson unfolded in Oak Green Way. Police are now urgently seeking witnesses and information to aid their investigation. The incident occurred around 5.30pm, when a group of young individuals targeted a property in the area, kicking its door before setting fire to the doormat. PC Conor Fountain from the Abbots Langley Neighbourhood Policing Team said; “Officers attended the scene alongside the fire and rescue service. The owner of the property is a lady in her seventies who is understandably very shaken up. Thankfully she was unhurt but this reckless behaviour could have resulted in a very different outcome. “I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch. Were you in the area? Did you see something suspicious?
