As a teacher, schools are especially meaningful to me. Combine my passion for education, with my love for all things abandoned.... well, you’ve got more than my attention. Â
This abandoned educational facility is quite unique. Although I couldn’t find much online about it, it would seem that this building housed both Hancock County High School, AND the Hancock County District Office. Hancock is a small county in Georgia, USA. The school is located with the Sparta, GA town limits, and has an abandoned football field attached the campus.
It was easy to enter the buildings, as there were several open doors and windows. There were signs that showed that the campus has been purchased by the University of Georgia, and is being re-purposed in some degree.Â
