1. what are some writing tics that persist in your work but that you dislike?

I tend to write very little about the scenery aspect of setting. It wasn’t something that used to bother me--I frequently skip over sections of description by other people--but I’ve been thinking about it more. I’m sure there’s other stuff, but I can’t think of it at the moment.

2. what does your id want? do you ever give in?

In terms of fanfic: There are certain character’s who’s POV I always want to write in. Also happy endings. Also writing Aomine & Momoi dynamic b/c they are very relateable to me. More recently: anything with Miyuki Kazuya. I give in some.

In terms of original stuff: writing from POV from smart teenage girl about my age. I rarely have protagonists that are adults, but sometimes I write protagonists who are lot younger than me.

3. You have to erase one of your fics from existence forever. Which one and why?

When you say erase from existence do you mean that they never existed? Or they no longer exist? I’ve kept almost all my fics up, not b/c I still like all of them but b/c I like to show my progress as a writer. If question A, probably my miyusawa roadtrip au b/c I got very attached then decided not to finish it; if question B, then my first one (ever!) which is an OCxKyoya OHSHC fic I wrote when I was 13. Delete for obvious reasons.

4. how much do you trust the reader?

I go back and forth a lot. Connected to this question is another question I go back and forth on--does it ultimately matter if the reader “gets it.” But to answer question 4, I sometimes like doing cool subtle things, but I know, through having my original critiqued that even attentive readers miss a lot. I guess I try to make a fic enjoyable even if the reader doesn’t “get” more complex ideas w/in it.

5. have you ever written anything you would’ve backclicked if it’d been written by anyone else?

I assume this is asking “would’ve backclicked at the time you were writing it”. Possibly.

6. what’s your guilty pleasure as a writer?

Writing as super smart characters. lol I’m sure the reasons there are so many series w/ mastermind type characters is that they’re very fun to write.

7. be honest: are you mean to your faves, or do you go easy on them?

I write about them more than non favorite characters? And as a result they go through more trials?

8. what parts of writing a fic do you think are a chore?

Summary, title, TRANSITIONS, sometimes exposition.

9. are there any unintentional trends in your writing?

10. have you ever intentionally written a character as OOC to fit with a kink/prompt/story idea?

I mean, I’m pretty generous when considering a character’s IC mode as opposed to OOC mode b/c people can be pretty inconsistent themselves. Sometimes I write characters older than they are in canon, and then they are more mature thant in canon?? Does that count? I’m sure somebody thinks of my interpretation of the characters of OOC but I don’t.

Last night I had a dream about Animal Crossing, which I don’t even play except once in a blue moon. But I was going around catching butterflies and other insects in my virtual net.

I wish I was dressed in something nice to describe.  Last Book I Read: Last book I finished was Star Wars: Legacy of the Force: Backlash. Next book I will probably will finish will be its sequel. But I’m also currently reading the first Harry Potter book in French.  Most Used Phrase: I’m not sure what stand alone phrase, but my verbal ticks include adding “or whatever” or “if that makes sense” to the end of statement.  First Word That Comes to Mind: how. as in “how can anybody actually answer this question?” What I Said Last Night to a Family Member: After talking about the history of Burma with my father, “Okay, I’m going to my room now. Good night.” Favourite Drink/Beverage: Hot Tea and Orange Juice. Favourite Food: Does ice cream count? And also blueberries. Last Movie I Saw in Theaters: Mad Max: Fury Road. Dream Vacation: I don’t think I really have one. I really like travelling so as long as I’m going somewhere relatively new, I enjoy it. Along with obvious places, I think New Zealand would be a visually really cool place to visit. But I think the idea of living somewhere for a while and really getting to know the place appeals to me more.  Dream Wedding: I’m not sure; it won’t happen anytime soon. The prettiest wedding I’ve ever been to was one in the North Carolina Appalachians, but I’m sure it was super expensive. Maybe at one of the state parks near wherever I’m living (assuming I’m still in the states) but nothing too big or expensive. I’d rather spend the money on something else.  Dream Pet: I’m a cat person and already have cats that I love (one is a calico and the other two are aging grey tabbies). But sometimes I think I’d like to have a dog, if it wasn’t a big one that jumped on me. One of my friends has a part-italian greyhound, part-mutt dog that I really like.  Dream job: I live a double life--one of arts and writing, one of math and science--so I have double dream jobs. One dream job is to be a main writer on tv shows (writing the occasional novel); the other is to be an engineer whose job takes her around the world and lets her help people and help curb climate change

1. Why did I choose my URL: i think it was just a working title for me to put down when i made this blog but im too lazy to think of another one. its a reference to Eowyn who’s my favorite female character in lord of the rings (not that there are many to choose from).

2. Middle name: Deen (after my country grandmother)

3. Fantasy/Fictional pet: idk. a dragon? pheonix? fantasy animals frequently have so much sentience its strange for me to think of having them as a pet.

4. Favorite color: blue

5. Favorite song: this is one of those horrible questions that no one can ever answer. It’d be a little easier if i divided it up into genre. right now, my favorite music artist is Amanda Palmer. 

6. Top 3 fandoms: the one’s i’m most active in are daiya no ace, haikyuu, and kuroko no basuke. i used to be in the young justice fandom (before the series was canceled) & i really liked being involved in it, even if, as with all fandoms, there were problems.

7. Why I like tumblr: i guess its the only social media platform i’ve really gotten involved in. i don’t always like it; i quit my last blog b/c it was giving me stress, not even due to some negative experience. i like it b/c i can interact with people who are interested in the same stuff & b/c i find out about a lot social issues i’d be otherwise unaware of.

I really like Kuroo too, and he’s great in the Nekoma OVA. Thank you for the tag! I’ll have to pass on this one though - I’m very self-conscious about my voice.
