Our girl is back, everyone! I was so worried yesterday with everything that was going on, and today when I logged in, your blog was gone for me. But you’re back — thank the stars! I hope everything gets sorted out this time and that our little safe haven stays secure. To me, it’s like watching Sirius, shining more brightly than any other star visible from Earth. Or should I say, more brightly than any other blog here on Tumblr.

It’s so funny — now I have “Olive Anon,” who I call Liv, and you, “AstronomyAnon,” who I’ll call Astro. It’s like we’re living inside a hall of mirrors, but a beautiful one. This isn’t just “Our Girl is back.” It feels like we’re all back in our little world, after a day out on a picnic somewhere.

Honestly, you don’t know how relieved I am not to have to rely on Instagram💀. It’s fine when there’s something happening live to comment on, but for everything else… 🥵. Don’t worry though — “Stupid Liv™️” is still here (unfortunately for you 😅), still making mistakes, still living in her little fairy world thinking she’s surrounded by sprites. The sprites exist around here, and even the unicorns of course, but there are wolves too 😊.

This morning I saw the blog had disappeared for a lot of people. I did that test with the Mundo Deportivo article — those pieces basically launch themselves because they interest everyone, not just our bubble — and that’s when I realized how close we were to a shutdown.

So thank you — to all of you, to all of us — for our little “field trip”. You were incredible and so dedicated. I didn’t expect such a big, passionate participation. And thanks to our unicorns 🦄 Lestappies, who jumped straight back in as soon as the blog came back, liking and retweeting even the oldest posts and reviving the algorithm. Whether it was intentional or not, each of us can romanticize it how we like, but they really brought us back to life.

And that comparison to Sirius… wow. Total flattery. It’s not “welcome back, Starlight” — it’s welcome back, all of us, all Starlights.

no but honestly—more than being wrong, let’s just hope you’re not accidentally summoning anyone, because we just got back home from the picnic and I’m not ready for any surprise neighbors showing up 😭

Anyway, here’s how I see it: she doesn’t really have a fandom. And Tumblr is a place for fewer people, but with high attachment. It’s a space for the ones who actually put effort in — people making gifs, edits, writing, drawing — it takes time and passion. It’s basically the platform of working-class love, love that requires labor.

Instagram, on the other hand, is not even disposable love — it’s at best a one-night thing. Pretty, fast, gone. There are plenty of people, sure, but they’re ready to drop you the minute after.

And she mostly lives off reflected light. If we check her engagement vs. her follower count, most of it comes from people who follow her just to get content about him. That’s the core of it.

And here on Tumblr, to keep a fandom alive you need to have a specific one. You need affection, creativity, and a character with enough depth and story to sustain that effort. Those are the materials that feed a hand-crafted fandom. In her case… well, let’s say none are really there.😬🤣
