Lexi trembled as she walked into the orphanage that was to be her new home. She hated the idea of being around tons of people she didn't know all the time. The second she walked in she cringed at the loud atmosphere. The social workers checked her in, led her to the bedroom so she would know where it was, then took her back down to the common room where everyone hung out during the day. Lexi wanted to turn around and bolt out of the place but the social workers just told her she would be fine. As they left Lexi just stood in the middle of the room in shock. Someone yelled at her to move and she finally made her way over to a corner that seemed the quietest. 

Lexi sat in the corner for what felt like hours, just watching the other children play. Then she noticed another kid being brought in. A boy who looked around her age, with curly hair, and pale green eyes. Lexi watched as they explained the same things to him they had to her. Then the social workers left but Lexi kept her gaze on the boy.
