Rook was once a college dropout named Reese Wu, who had a sister named Carmen. Carmen went missing, and Reese went,,,, a little nuts trying to find her. They never did find her, but they did find her killer, who took them out to keep them from telling anyone. Then, a few months later, they woke up again, in a new form with strange new powers and urges and no memories of who they once were.

Rook is based on my Warrior cats OC Rookwatcher, though the two have become pretty different in personality and origin story. Still, their powers work the same: they can’t die and have a heal-factor, can eat anything, are immune to disease, and they can shapeshift by literally ripping off their skin to reveal a new form underneath. They can also change their voice at will. All of this comes at a cost, though--they’re constantly starving and constantly in agony, and no matter how much they eat they will never be sated or gain any weight.
