Album Number Four Hundred Sixty Seven “Free at Last” is the fifth studio album by the English rock band Free. It was recorded between Jan. and Mar. 1972, and released in May that year. After breaking up in April 1971 due to differences between singer #paulrodgers and bassist #andyfraser the band had reformed in January 1972. My copy is on #aandmrecords - SP 4349. All members of the band made a concerted effort to work smoothly and efficiently for guitarist #paulkossoff ‘s sake as he was suffering due to an addiction to Mandrax (Quaaludes). For example, in a symbolic gesture all tracks were credited to every member of the band regardless of who actually wrote them. During the period in late 1971 where the band had split, Kossoff and #simonkirke had formed a new band with Japanese bassist #tetsuyamauchi and keyboard player #johnrabbitbundrick ; Kirke asked them to join the Free tour in place of Fraser. Album Number Four Hundred Sixty Six. “Highway” is the fourth studio album by the English rock band #freeband . It was recorded extremely quickly in September 1970 following the band's success at the #isleofwightfestival but with an attitude of relaxation, the band having achieved worldwide success with their previous album Fire and Water (26 June 1970) and the single "#allrightnow ". It is a low-key and introspective album compared with its predecessors. My copy is on #aandmrecords - SP 4287. (One of the few albums I have with that original label) It was their last album to be recorded in a position of success and security, as its failure contributed to the emotionally insecure #paulkossoff 's growing drug addiction and the band's temporary split, from which it never truly recovered. The song became a top five rock hit in the group's native United Kingdom, and also did well in European countries such as Austria, France, and Germany. Peter Frampton decided to remain with #humblepie 's U.S. label A&M, and assembled an impressive supporting cast including Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, #spookytooth members #mickjones and #mikekellie , and former #herd member #andybown , for his first solo effort following his departure from Humble Pie in 1971. Album Number Four Hundred Fifty Six. “Burrito Deluxe” is the second album by the country rock group the #flyingburritobrothers , released in May 1970 on #aandmrecords , catalogue 4258. It is the last to feature #gramparsons prior to his dismissal from the group. It contains the first issued version of the Mick Jagger/Keith Richards-written song "#wildhorses ," released almost a year before #therollingstones own take on it appeared on #stickyfingers . My copy is on A&M Records - SP-4258. After the release of the group's debut album, ex-Byrd #michaelclarke was hired as the band's full-time drummer — he had recently been playing in another ex-Byrd, #geneclark 's band #dillardandclark . In the fall of 1969 bassist #chrisethridge left the Burrito Brothers in frustration at the band's lack of success. In his place the Burritos recruited guitarist #bernieleadon from the disintegrating Dillard and Clark, freeing #chrishillman to return to playing bass.
