most of the time he’d let it be free to jostle around his shoulders, sometimes it would be up in a ponytail or bun to keep his locks out of his face, but just natural and free was how he liked it best.

and when you came along, he adored how much you loved his non apologetic hair too. you were always running your fingers through it, playing with it absentmindedly when you were together. eddie didn’t really think it could get much better than that.

and then one day you were giggling and laughing with him next to his open locker, leaning against the one next to it and enjoying the dimples on his cheeks when he smiled with you.

and without thinking, you moved forward, cupping his cheek and leaning in to bump your noses together. taking a few strands of hair over your thumb, you tucked them right behind his ear, and then you kissed him.

eddie felt his cheeks burn hot at the gesture, having never even tucked his own hair behind his ear before. and here you were, doing it for him. and he loved it. when you pull away, oblivious to how affected he had become, he subconsciously touches those few strands that you had tucked away and fights a silly smile.
