âYou know thatâs fâstupid, right?â Kanda asked as he stared at Allen in disbelief. He was currently hopping along the slick rocks that crossed the river theyâd been following for the last hour. Kanda grimaced when Allen turned on his feet and swayed.
âWhat did Master Tiedoll say?â
That was a legitimate question but, âWeâre in the middle of the goddamn forest if you fall then thatâs you fault.â He looked down then to adjust Mugen at his hip and thatâs when he heard it.
A barely there yelp and suddenly a loud SPLASH.
Kanda let out a snort. âTold you.â

AWWW <3 just for this you get a tiny spoiler for your bday gift :) âI was wondering when youâd come in.â Allen teased, leaning in close to the mirror to finish his eyeliner. âI could hear your breathing.â He turned his head ever so slightly to the side to look at him and Kanda was struck again by how much love was in those mismatched eyes. Not only that, but how all of it could be directed at him.Â

15 - Moving in together [Marie/Miranda]
not too sure about this one but here you go <3 (again RP-verse) wc: 835âIt started on a Friday. âIs it just me or is there something different about Miranda lately?â Daisya asked, plopping down on Marieâs large beanbag chair with little finesse. âShe hasnât been over a lot lately, is she planninâ something?â Marie kept folding the laundry heâd just finished, not even bothering to look in Daisyaâs direction. âMm why do you think that?â âOh, you know, sheâs been kindaâŠâ Daisya snapped his fingers. âWhatâs the word Iâm lookinâ for? Skittish? Yeah! Sheâs been droppinâ stuff more, and whenever she does come over sheâs been talkinâ to Tiedoll a lot.â Marie didnât have to have eyes to tell that Daisya was grinning.âYou know just because I canât see you doesnât mean I canât tell youâre grinning from ear to ear.â Daisya huffed. âThen does that meanâââSheâll tell me when sheâs ready.â âButââ âOut. Unless you want to help me finish folding these boxers?â Daisya made a disgrunted huff before stomping out of the room.âOn Saturday Kanda asked: âWhatâs wrong with Miranda?â He sounded worn out, like heâd just come back from a run. âShe hasnât told me anything, why?â âI just saw her at Linkâs bakery.â Kanda answered, taking a few seconds to drink from a plastic bottle before continuing, âShe seemed shocked to see me there, and then she kind of left after I got my order so I couldnât ask her if sheâd be by for dinner, butââ âShe hasnât told me she wouldnât be.â Marie shrugged one shoulder. âI wouldnât worry.â Thankfully, unlike Daisya, Kanda dropped it.âSunday Miranda came for dinner. It was just as eventful as it always was, especially when Tiedoll took it upon himself to invite Komui and Lenalee, Bak, and Bakâs parents. There was always copious amounts of arguing, either between Komui and Bak, or between Bak and Kanda. It was nice to hear, though. But one voice was missing from the crowd. It took him a moment to realize that Miranda was being unusually quiet. âIs everything alright?â He asked, squeezing her hand comfortingly. âY-Yes!â She sounded nervous. âI just, um, I-I wouldâwhen everyone leavesâc-can I ask you something?â Marie nodded his head, âOf course. Anything.â Maybe the crowd was bothering her? That had to be it. âIt took nearly three hours for Bak, Komui, and Lenalee to leave. It took even longer for Daisya to finally get dragged off somewhere by Chaoji. If Marie hadnât known any better heâd say they were making themselves scarce for a reason. But he wasnât going to jump to conclusions. No.âC-Can we go to your room?â Miranda asked after a moment. He could hear the waver in her voice, but also âwas she excited? He squeezed her hand again and nodded his head. This time he let her lead the way. She knew her way around this house like it was a second home to her (sheâd also stayed over more times than he could count. It made his heart swell a little thinking of how muchâbetter sheâd gotten over the last two years.God it had been two years already?Time really did fly by. When they finally entered his room he could hear her lock the door behind him. Instead of asking he sat down on the bed. âWhat is it?â He asked when she didnât come sit beside him like usual.âA-Actually.â Oh. Now the nervousness was back. âI was wondering, Marie. I-I was looking atâŠwell, you know I was looking at Apartments, right?â Marie nodded his head. He could hear her shuffle closer. âI actuallyâŠI found a nice one.It was on the bottom floor! Not too far from where I work. I know it might not beâŠâ She hesitated here, as though she was searching for her words, but a few short seconds later she found them and sat down next to him on the bed. âIt may be too soon but did you want to come with me when I look at it on Monday? âŠNot literally, ah, look. But. Iâd like to see how you move around in the space. IfâIf itâs easy for you?â Marie was about to ask why, but honestly? He wasnât stupid. He knew why she was asking.âAlright.â He looped an arm around her waist and he could feel the tension seep out of her. âIs this why youâve been nervous these past few weeks?â He felt her nuzzle into the side of his neck and his smile widened. âYouâŠwould you like me to live there with you?âHe felt her nod.âThen the answer is yes.â After all it had been two years and he wasnât âlookingâ for anyone else. He kind of doubted he ever would. âYou know,â Miranda murmured after a while of easy silence, reaching out to grab one of his hands so he could feel the smile on her face. âI donât know why I was so nervous about asking.âÂ
22 - Slow dancing [Lavi/Lenalee]
âŠSo. This one is definitely on the more platonic end, but I tried! (Also set in our RP-verse) wc: 572Laviâs first clear memory of Lenalee was the smell of blood. The smell of blood and a girl lying in a hospital bed crying, but not seeing. It had been. Shocking wasnât the word for it, but it had definitely jarred him into feeling something. Something he wasnât used to feeling. (And at this point in time, in his life, feeling things didnât come easy. He still had to remind himself this wasnât normal). When she stopped smelling so much like blood and antiseptic and began to shuffle-walk-trip down hallways âall in attempts to walk on already-battered legs. That made Lavi feel something too. Something stronger.(She had a friend. A boy, named Kanda, who with his long hair almost had Lavi thinking he was a she but no. Heâd been corrected on that very, very quickly. He got under her shell though, in a way Lavi couldnât. He could make her smile. Lavi felt something then, too. It felt something like loneliness. And he hated it). When she finally stopped stumbling and could stand on her ownâthat was when Lavi tried to talk to her. Again. Heâd tried before, but this time he could see a little bit of light in her eyes. She wasnât a lost cause. So heâd try. (Try like that other boy did).He asked her if she could dance. He remembered the look on her face. Shocked, then disbelieving, then anger. He hadnât meant to make her angry. âYou have pretty legs.â Heâd said. And that had made her freeze. âA dancers legs. Theyâll be longer when you grow up!â Heâd tried to smile. She did him a favor by believing it. Then heâd asked again. âDo you know how to dance?â This time she answered with a shake of her head.âI can teach you.âGranted he also didnât know very much. He wasnât that much older, and his balance still wasnât that good. But it was something. He wanted to try. And sheâd accepted. They went slowly at first. Basic steps, small maneuvers, and slowly but surely she got better. The bandages started disappearing ,and she smiled more, when he twirled her around. She even sometimes brought that boy along (who sometimes also brought another boy). It was the four of them and they were happy, often pairing off, only to switch, because they were kids and who cared if two boys danced together? Some time later those bandages were entirely gone and an older man came by. He came one day when they were practicing, mid-twirl and then suddenly she was sobbing and running, steady on her feet, into the older manâs arms. Then heâd introdued himself. âMy name is Komui. Iâm Lenaleeâs older brother. Are you Lavi?â When he nodded his head Komui smiled (they shared the same smile), and said: âThank you. That dance was beautiful.â That was the first time anyone had ever truly thanked him. ââDo you remember when you used to dance with me?â Lavi turned to look at Lenalee, startled. She wasnât looking at him. Actually, she wasnât looking much of anywhere. Her eyes were still swollen from crying and it made Laviâs heart hurt. âYeah. Of course I do.â He answered. He didnât much feel like smiling either. âWhy?â âCould you dance with me again?â She held a hand out. âFor old times sake? I think IâI think I really need it.â

âSo youâre saying he hasnât spoken a single word since he came here.â Tiedoll glanced through the doorâs window, at the silent boy on the bed. One wouldnât be able to tell now, but just mere hours ago the boy had been covered in bruises and cuts. Heâd even been told that the boy had two fractured ribs and a sprained wrist, but those too looked perfectly healed on the X-Ray that the doctor had pinned up.âThatâs correct.â The doctor hesitated, looking down at his clipboard before giving a meaningful cough. âI donât know how much longer we can keep theâŠothersâŠfrom him. While weâre used to getting interesting cases such as thisââ âI see. If thatâs a problem then Iâll take him.â The doctor jerked back at Tiedollâs tone, staring at him for a moment in disbelief. Tiedoll raised an eyebrow at him. âThatâsâŠnot an issue, is it doctor?â Quickly the doctor shook his head. âGood!â Tiedoll smiled in relief. âWell then, may I see my newly adopted son? Or are you going to keep me waiting?ââBut are you sureâŠ?â âYes.â Again that too wide smile. âOr are you forgetting I was the one who brought him here.â âBut heâs violent, and temperamental andââ ââHeâs grieving.â Tiedoll snapped, voice cold. âNow will you do your job or will I have to report you?â The doctor jerked back as Tiedoll turned the nob to the patient, Kanda Yuuâs, room. He was only a boy. Tiedoll sighed heavily and walked over to the bedside, not caring if the doctor followed him. âGood morning.â He said to what was essentially a shell. Maybe one day there would be life in him. He could see it now. Heâd probably be hard to handle, yes, with a fiery temper and a chilling rage. But he could also also see a deep warmth, too. He wanted to see that boy smile. So he placed a hand on the boyâs shoulder and murmured, âI know weâve met before but how would you like to come home with me after this?â The boys icy gaze turned towards him and maybe Tiedoll was imagining things, but he thought he saw that spark of life in their depths. It wasnât much, but it was a start.
