also how, day after the news, ace's looking out at the sea & luffyâs facedown by the cliff, clutching his big hat, he canât even lift his face, and he croaks, ace i want to get more strong, more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more⌠shot of the ocean again, endless, it could drown you. theyre drowning!! but ace is different, ace seems to have metabolized saboâs final request overnight (like dadan didnât just truss him UP IN A TREE so he wouldnât go after the dragons in his stupid suicide mission lmao, heâs rly not slick), like!!! ace even asks makino to teach him manners like a proper older brother, the sort sabo wouldâve wanted him to be for luffy, and what im saying is. so much of who ace&luffy are Fundamentally is shaped by sabo, & how they lost sabo. what im saying is when 17-year-old ace finally stepped into his little dinghy, he brought sabo with him too, and everywhere since i think
