Darkness, shadows, the strings vibrating and trembling with every gentle touch to the keys that they were bound to. The sounds were launched into the air, music notes invisible to the eye but all to easily registered by the ears. His fingers played without the mind’s knowledge, swiftly gliding over the keys, the sound ripped through the air with a passion and fire that was hard to believe existed outside of prewritten sheet music. Eyes closed, sealed from the world, his mind drifted away into a place that was far away. His music displayed this far away world, this far away time, a time long gone and buried in the darkness of the life that was once there. The melody was gentle, kind, but depressed all the same. There was a sense of melancholy there, a residue left and slowly piling up. There was hope there too, but it burned up like fast eaten fuel in a fire. It ignited the air for merely a moment before disappearing into the vastness of the space surrounding him. In moments like this, he was unawares to his environment, his mind was locked in the perception of whatever he saw in his mind’s eye.
That is, unless there is a noise. When he heard the sound of the door clicking shut he snapped to alertness. He was alarmed, a wince of pain as his finger landed on a sour note that pulled him completely from that day dream, from that gentle reminder of past adventures and lost times. It was such a painful jerk to reality, it almost ripped his breath straight from his lungs and sent his brain into an anxiety fueled panic. Just like the gentle sunbeams that poured through the window with a golden glow, he pushed through the emotions that came with the suddenness. As the dust flowed gently in the sun rays, displaying just how old this room was, it became apparent that sunset would soon cast it’s oranges and yellows across the soon to be night sky. The time of Solaris was passing and soon Selene would take her position as the Goddess of the sky where she would search endlessly for Endymion. Scrooge turned towards where he heard the noise and was surprised to see the other.
“Ah… Sorry ‘bout tha’…” Was all he said, his mind still absent from the tangible world around him.
