When's your birthday?

11. Something you miss? Deep dish pizza.  I grew up near Chicago, so deep dish was (and is) “real” pizza to me.  My family used to always go out to a good pizzeria for it on my birthday.  It’s sadly pretty much impossible to get in Seattle, and since I found out I’m gluten intolerant, I wouldn’t be able to eat it anyway. :P

20. Where do you go when you’re sad?Back in college, I’d hop in my car, hit the expressway, and just...drive for miles in some arbitrary direction.  It sort of helped at the time, but mostly it just meant I didn’t talk to anyone about what was bothering me.  These days I go to wherever my wife or my moirail are, depending on what I need.  If I need to cry my eyes out, my wife gets to deal with that.  If I need to talk through something, it could be either.

35. The relationship between you and the person you last texted?She’s the aforementioned “moirail”.  Who also happens to be my ex-wife.  Yes, really.  We got married shortly after college, years before I came out as trans.  We put each other through a lot of shit, and helped one another through just as much, and on the other side of it all we recognized that we are much better friends than lovers.  So we got the most amicable divorce in history: we filed for it on Valentine’s Day, it was finalized by the court on her birthday, and we went to see The Avengers to celebrate (also with our partners at the time).  True Story.
