Ѧ a lost frequency
It had been so long since he last even cast a glimpse at the damaged datapad he had dropped on numerous occasions, he had even forgotten he had that... thing. But what good was it if it was broken, or appeared broken? Knowing him, he didn't want it, but he had a sudden curiosity as to if he could fix it. So he dragged the battered datapad to his lap and started to move and rewire, seeing if he could get it online and any frequency should be able to pick it up, regardless of him in a fortress with no possible way to get through the barrier.
So he'd sneak out of his room and go to the main room, no one was around at this hour, so he was safe. Scooting under the console, he plugged it in and used the mainframe as a wifi, and started to see if he could find a random signal and initiate conversation.
Too bad he couldn't read or write, but the fascinating thing was that it was a speech-to-text application on the device, so he could easily just speak and let it carry wherever it could. But what should he say? He didn't know what to say, but he decided to start out with a simple greeting, no matter how stupid it sounded.
|Come in f-frequency? Come in, hello?|
He was sure he sounded ridiculous. He felt about ready to just set it down and return to his room with no hope in contacting anyone out there. But he'd wait, he'd be patient, staring intently at the screen, waiting for a response.
If there was one.
