We got weirdly invested in coming up with rules for this so here ya go

The John hand sign (thumbs up to symbolize that he's holding the lighter, with the thumb as the flame)

The Arthur hand sign (hold down your pinkie finger, because he's missing a pinkie finger)

Both Grace and Arthur are sad pathetic men (affectionate) who get thrust into dire circumstances, and meanwhile John and Rocky spend decades alone before finding Their Human™ that they latch onto and follow like a newborn duckling.
