The short answer is "only sometimes" - by default I think he doesn't really know her other than meeting her maybe once during Al'ab Nariya for 10 seconds, then again at the interschool tournament. He could go down that one route I wrote in my post where it's briefly one-sided (although I still haven't figured out the logistics of it), but any situation where "he actually likes her" only happens in like... specific AUs I have in mind (namely RSA AU) but spoiler they uhhh don't end up together 😭 (she's too much of a princess enjoyer and he's unfortunately a prince /j)
