i am gonna finish the buckravi fic series when they resurrect my peepaw.

i’ve reached 7k on the draft, so let’s celebrate!

“Oh, there’s more than one person ready to make Eddie forget Buck as well,” Maddie adds, sitting herself near, hand on her belly. “The Eddie Diaz fan club is full of moms, dads, teachers and at least one of your farm duty colleagues.”

“What,” he asks flatly.

“You wouldn’t know about it, because you go cross eye when Buck’s around, but you have options, I guess,” she says without heat, like it’s true, like Eddie hasn’t been daydreaming about Buck, about holding his hand and sharing more than his body heat during patrols, about a life together and a house full of bad singing and laugh. For years.

“Your brother is hard to forget,” he says, against his will. They’re really good at pestering him. 

“Why would dad forget Bucky?” Chris asks from his game, looking so confused Eddie laughs a little.

“Not happening kid,” he reassures. “Auntie Maddie’s just being a meanie ‘cause she can’t have auntie Karen’s special Christmas grown up chocolate this year.”

Maddie gives him a savage smile the second Chris nods in satisfaction and turns back to the other kids and the game. “See if we’ll babysit when Buck comes back all rugged and you guys need grown up special time.”

Eddie near strangles himself on his spiked chocolate. “Oh my- God- Maddie! Why would you-”

“Like I’ve never seen you ogle Buck’s butt when he comes back from patrol. Is the dirt doing it for you, Diaz?” she teases real low.
