The only physical description of Josie that we get as that her eyes are “on fire,” specifically when “pray[ing] like a Roman” (which I can only assume means “to various Classical deities”) (which whatever that means was clearly important, as they said it three times). She has ominous-sounding titles such as “The Raw Flame” and “The Live Wire” (less ominous is “The Pride of the Neighborhood,” though that could be a Kindly Ones/Fair Folk sort of thing), and is associated with chaos and violence throughout. She lays down the law, breaks the law, never says no to a scrap, shakes “em all” down, is apparently in possession of something called “the battle apple,” strikes at midnight, and dances “on the bones”--of her enemies, presumably as those last two were said in virtually the same breath and there’s mention of disposing of the evidence a little later on. Also, her arrival is apparently to be celebrated by violating traffic law.
