Hey Jen, what are your thoughts on the Brenda/Dylan/Kelly love triangle in Beverly Hills 90210 season 3, what do you think drove Dylan to start an affair with Kelly (while Brenda was in Paris) and later a relationship with her? Deep down, you don't think Dylan ever really stopped being in love with Brenda do you? I would absolutely love to hear your analysis on that.
Brenda was always Dylan’s first love and the only reason he ended up with Kelly is because Jason Priestley left the show a year before it ended (I will never forgive him for that). So they needed a big draw for the final season and were able to bring back Luke Perry. But Jason Priestly has said that leaving before the final year was a mistake and Aaron Spelling absolutely intended Brandon and Kelly to end up together, which he ultimately screwed up by leaving. So, Dylan would have remained off screen and with Brenda. They only torpedoed their off screen relationship because Luke was coming back on the show. Dylan & Brenda, Kelly & Brandon were the planned endgame. No question about it.
