continuing with my octopath ocs, may i introduce the lady Tiphania Rosenholm, a young noblewoman who's definitely legitimately interested in furthering her studies as a budding apothecary and not just using that as an excuse to avoid and delay her arranged marriage

#✨🔩✨#oc tag: tiphania #path actions inquire/soothe #8posting #trying to figure out her design balancing 'needs to be at least somewhat less impractical for the type of traveling + fighting she'll be #doing' vs 'but she's a fancy noblewoman + needs a fancy dress!' vs 'but i don't actually know how to draw that'. so. simple dress for now #apothecary work may seem like an odd choice for a noble but it's something of a tradition in her family #and it's suitably 'intellectual' to be considered respectable for a theoretical study topic #because of course it's not like she'd actually be expected to get her own hands dirty working in an actual hospital or anything #(she then proceeds to spend 4/5 of her entire story out among regular people realizing that life outside her manor is very different from #the sort of life she's used to)#the arranged marriage is something her parents + her fiance's parents decided on as a political alliance. you know. typical nobility stuff #...except the part where (unbeknownst to the actual fiance) her fiance's mother gets fed up with waiting for her to return + decides to try #to take her and/or her family's territory by force so she can take their land money and influence for herself #no care for what happens to the ordinary people living in said land. who tiphania has coincidentally just spent a few chapters getting to #know and care about + realizing hey maybe i should take my responsibilities more seriously bc it's not just me who's affected #(both in the sense of 'you're a noble + may be the ruler or co-ruler of your territory one day'#and 'you're an apothecary + people depend on you for medical attention')#anyway. the fiance's mother is tiphania's main antagonist. though it'll take a few chapters for her to get her plans rolling enough #for anyone to actually realize it #and again. the fiance doesn't know. which makes things kind of complicated #tiphania starts off her story very sheltered + unaware of how the ''real world'' works + a big part of her story is her learning more about #the world + how ordinary people live + are affected by things as she goes out + sees it all for herself #that and uh. something i'm not sure if i wanna spoil here or not yet. but i have already drawn another sketch that does spoil it #so you may be seeing that soon anyway
