Okay, I wasn’t going to say anything about this but there are so many bad takes going around right now that I want to.

The ST writers are NOT responsible for the 8Flix scam.

I’m sorry to all the people who have lost out on money and are trying to get it back (as you should!!), there’s a link on GoFundMe here where you can request a refund. However, some of y’all who are blaming the writer’s room for not posting something sooner to warn people…it is not their responsibility to make sure your dumb ass doesn’t give money to a shady source online.

Second, some of y’all are out here defending Nick from 8Flix like he’s Eleven and the ST writers are all the other numbers who have ganged up and are about to rock her shit in the Rainbow Room. This is not the case. The writers had their intellectual property infringed upon and responded accordingly (without even naming 8Flix!). If anything, Nick is like Papa. He lied. On top of that, he’s definitely committed fraud and most likely copyright infringement as well. There’s a great post by @queerxqueen that I’ll link here that goes way more into how Nick has been editing the site to take out language about “official/real scripts” and anything about selling scripts.

Basically, Nick from 8Flix is a trash human who took advantage of a large portion of the fandom to make some quick cash. I know he is saying everything is “donations”, but my dude…exchanging money for goods or services is SELLING. People provided money for a product that was never delivered, and have every right to be upset. Additionally, even if Nick thought the script was legit and professional, he didn’t know for sure, he didn’t do his due diligence to find out, and he still tried to pass it off as being real and official in exchange for money. He’s a liar and deserves any and all consequences that come his way. Period.

And that’s the tea on that.
