86 - Voices of the Chord [AMV Edit]

This was something I was originally never going to post and made about a year ago, because trying to use Sawano's music to post on YT is near impossible. It was just a little passion project for my favourite anime, and a way to practice my editing.

However, I was going through my old edits - I have a lot just gathering dust in odd corners - and went "you know what fuck it, I'll send it to the Tumblr archive because I miss this anime." So here we are, also on my hundreth and something rewatch. I hope whoever sees it enjoys watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.

“I couldn’t save them. I didn’t want to abandon them, to let them die.

I wanted to save them, but…I couldn’t do it. I…I…!”

“It’s not your fault, Lena. But…”

She felt his arms wrap around her back. Hard, muscular hands. And through his thick panzer jacket, she could feel his body heat, slightly higher than her own.

“I don’t think anyone can blame you for wanting to cry. You must be sad.”

He embraced her, telling her without words that she was allowed to cry.

And so…Lena raised her voice and sobbed openly. Grieving the loss of her homeland and the countless people who died.

“…So that chill I felt on the Stella Maris was indeed because of you…”

“That reminds me. About the Cicada…”

It wasn’t just Lena; Vika had Anju and Kurena put it on, too.

“I suppose I shouldn’t have mentioned that… Lerche, handle this!”

Vika walked off with quick steps, leaving behind a flustered Lerche.
