Send me a āš+an OCā and I will talk about that OC! It can be a headcanon, a fun fact, a small paragraph of backstory- anything! | Accepting
So, I have always loved the idea of having an art thief muse, mostly because (and I donāt know if anyoneās noticed) Iām a big fan of the show Psych and one of my favorite characters (and the man whoās namesake I used as basis for my very first OCās Didi & Jasper) was renowned art theif Pierre Despereaux. He was such a lovable, super suave, almost James Bond-ish type character who despite being a criminal was so well-loved by the crime fighters in the show.
That being said, I struggled to think of a substitute for him as I didnāt actually want to use the faceclaim (I just associated him with his character too much and I felt he couldnāt be anyone else for me!), but someone who was similar. Granted, 85 actually strayed quite far from her original concept; what would have initially been a femme fatale, spy-like character became someone more human, which Iām much happier with.
85 is meant to be more a real-world anti-hero, someone who tries to do good despite the implications of her job, someone who doesnāt harm for thrills, someone who doesnāt want to be flashy. I think thatās always something that not a lot of heist movies take note of; the morality behind the theft, the inner conflict.
85 isnāt sociable, sheās very quiet, sheās blunt at times, she canāt always empathize with others, she feels very vulnerable at times. And I like having a criminal character that gets to explore a more vulnerable side instead of hiding behind anger and violence.Ā
If anything, her and Dude are actually very similar in how they approach crime and deal with their actions, yet still manage to have such different styles and personas.Ā
