Today’s the day, August 1st, 2015
In May, I made the decision that I was going to quit using drugs, and that I was going to do it all on my own. I told myself that I had until August 1st, with absolutely no exceptions. Since then, I’ve been working on restricting my use, and it’s been going well..for the most part anyway. It definitely wasn’t easy, and I couldn’t do it entirely on my own, but I’ve come a long way since May. Anyway, today marks the start of the second half of my recovery. This day symbolizes the end of a very long and challenging chapter in my Book of Life, and also the start of a new one. Starting today, I’m not going to let my life be controlled by substance abuse, and that’s a promise not only to myself, but to anyone who has seen the negative effects that substance abuse has had on my life. Today is the day I bid farewell to my addiction, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m so grateful for everyone who has supported me through this, I seriously couldn’t have gotten this far without you all. I know you guys will stand by my side as I continue to fight this, and I love you guys so much for that.
