"When we sit and we get quiet, then we look and see who's home. Across the way there are 80 windows we can see, It's christmastime and they all have the same tree. You tell me the patterns you already see, I wonder if they see us in our bed."

Nada Surf, “80 Windows”
This is like the one Nada Surf album nobody really cares about, couched between their 90s alt-rock heyday and their mellow-pop revival with Let Go. This one wasn't even released in the US 'cause their label didn't think it had a hit. Which I guess it kinda doesn't.
It's nice though! I like it way more than the noisy 90s snottiness of High/Low which never made a lot of sense coming from Nada Surf to begin with. These guy's aren't shit-kickin ironic 90s rock n rollers! They're sweet melody fellows. This is the first Surf album that pushes hard in that direction. It's nice! There are a coupla 90s alt-rockin tracks that I don't like too much but they were clearly finding new territory here.
You know, I like this band. I like these Nada Surf fellows. They're just good at what they do. Lovely melodies. Good for them.
