“  i  find  the  followers  of  rh’llor  to  be  an  interesting  sort  as  far  as  religious  views  go .  but  i  place  my  faith  in  none  but  myself .  ”

“  it  would  be  banal  to  say  it  doesn’t  compare  to  my  ancestral  home  wouldn’t  it ?  what i  shall  say  instead  is  the  first  time  i  laid  eyes  upon  the  red  keep  i  was  mystified  by  the  sight  of  it .  i’ve  been  here  too  often  to  feel  much  of  anything  in  regards  to  it  now .  ”

“  from  an  outside  perspective  it  would  seem  to  be  to  prove  a  point .  if  there  was  ill  intent  as  is  being  suggested  it  might’ve  been  to  leave  a  message .  on  a  personal  leave  it  could’ve  been  an  act  committed  in  a  moment  of  passion .  perhaps  the  crown  has  enemies  or  perhaps  the  enemies  belonged  solely  to  the  guard . ”

         “yes --- my daughter visenya is just a year old. it is my duty to the realm to provide heirs, so yes, i do want more children.”

         “while many have more fraught relationships with their families, i’m blessed to say my siblings and i are unequivocally close, despite whatever difficulties our lord father and lady mother may have had.”

         “i couldn’t say --- i would not be so foolish as to presume i am a skilled tactician, or morally irreproachable, or anything particularly impressive. i suppose my strength is my adaptability, my instinct for self-preservation.”

         “not that evening, no --- i had been celebrating with a cup or two or ten of wine, although i’ll admit, i am privy to certain secrets that may cast some suspicion.”

         “what motive might anyone have for murder ? men in their cups are prone to bouts of pride and anger, and it may well be that this was merely another such case. but we cannot rest on hope alone, and i fear this may have been the first in a more coordinated, strategic attack on the crown.”

         “no. i hope so, of course, but the truth of it is, such a specific attack is highly unlikely to be random. even if it is, events such as this never remain isolated --- someone will seek to turn this to their advantage, one way or another.”

     ‘      i do , very much so , with my mother and my eldest brother , augustine especially , he’s been my father since before i could remember , and i would do anything for him just as he would for i .       ’

       ‘       family traditions are for family alone , breaking fast in the gardens was always a favourity time of mine , so prehaps that’s my most valued memory of home .      ’

      ‘      usually it was by my brothers side , more so now i spend my days among the flowers in high garden and in the gardens of king landing more recently . it’s such a peaceful moment so sit in silence with nothing but the blooms .       ’

      ‘       devout i am not , though i should be . whether it be old gods or the seven .      ’

     ‘      i like to think my greatest strength is too look past things other could not , names , birth rights , it’s all just words . why bother with rudeness when you can be kind and show other that you are , look past parental indiscretions , look past things they have no control of .       ’

    ‘       someone would say my strength is my weakness , but i can surely tell you , i can’t tell a lie from a truth when spoken to my face . so perhaps they’re right , i am too eager to see the good then believe the bad .       ’
