Sherlock flies from London to Karachi, Pakistan to (kill a few people and) save Irene. He leaves his phone volume on the whole trip, but the only time it makes a sound while he’s infiltrating this unknown rebel group is when Irene texts him. Also, John Watson doesn’t seem to notice he’s gone, and his brother, deep inside the British government, isn’t aware he’s gone through passport control.

But only Season 4 has plot holes that require suspension of disbelief from the viewers.
