After narrowing down to just one visual language, I picked the self help books(big surprise), we then had to refine our designs and subject matter even more. Trying to be as clean and specific on what our intentions were, who were were making for, and what the purpose was for our chosen formats. For this week I picked making a newspaper, and a website. Now I will easily admit, that neither were really ‘there’ in terms of aesthetics or refined design, but I was getting closer to where it needed to be I think. I was incorporating the colors, and style of the 60s/70s books.
I also acquired some content for the site and newspaper through researching my topic of mental health. Since my V.L was self help, I decided my content should be a positive source of information on how to find help for yourself if you have a mental illness. I found information on what to do to help yourself out of depression moods, anxiety, and/or panic attacks. Just things to do to feel better, translated into a website and newspaper.
