Arqit and 6WIND Solutions Launch Quantum-Safe Networking
Arqit and 6WIND Solutions
The collaborative partnership between Arqit and 6WIND to provide enterprise and telecoms quantum-safe networking services. The alliance uses 6WIND's high-performance virtual routing software and Arqit's advanced encryption key generation to protect data from quantum computing hazards. The combined approach prevents “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks without expensive hardware modifications by offering scalable VPN services. Both firms say the connection future-proofs critical infrastructure while maintaining cloud efficiency and agility. Handling the “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” Threat The alliance comes at a crucial cybersecurity time. Quantum computing breakthroughs threaten traditional public-key infrastructure (PKI), the backbone of digital security. Businesses face “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks and a “cryptographically relevant” quantum computer in the future. Thus, malicious actors intercept and store encrypted content to decipher it when quantum technology evolves. In response, Arqit and 6WIND are introducing a fully integrated, on-device quantum-safe IPsec solution. Businesses can safeguard critical data and communications against quantum-enabled threats with this collaborative solution. NetworkSecure by Arqit The Arqit NetworkSecure technology and 6WIND Virtual Service Router product line are incorporated into this new solution. NetworkSecure safeguards data in transit with quantum-safe key generation using post-quantum cryptography (PQC). New services assist several enterprise, telecom, and business-to-business use cases, including: Communication between sites Hub-and-spoke designs Implementations with high availability The solution uses virtualized cloud infrastructure and uCPE. This strategy allows organizations to adopt next-generation security without expensive, proprietary hardware updates. Executive Views Both organizations' leaders stressed agility and performance in modern security systems. Arqit CPO Scott Alexander said clients require “pre-integrated, quantum-safe solutions deployable over flexible low-cost universal hardware and cloud infrastructure”. He says the 6WIND connection gives him this versatility. Karim Mchirki, VP Product Management at 6WIND, said the two businesses' synergy allows organizations to grow next-generation secure connection services by combining 6WIND's high-performance, software-defined networking solutions with Arqit's quantum-safe key generation technology. He claimed the cooperation reduces quantum risks and maintains network performance. Regarding Partners 6WIND pioneered green and high-performance cloud networking. The company develops cloud-native and virtualized networking software for mobile network security, 5G SA enablement, and broadband expansion. Mobile network operators, cloud service providers, and ISPs use their software worldwide. Arqit Quantum Inc.'s “Detect, Protect, Comply” software-based encryption protects critical data. NetworkSecure protects transit data, while Encryption Intelligence maps dependencies and finds cryptographic vulnerabilities. Arqit was named a 2024 IDC Post-Quantum Cryptography Innovator. The Way Forward Arqit and 6WIND intend to speed up quantum-safe networking for many organizations with these integrated devices. To safeguard important communications from future cryptographic attacks while keeping virtualized settings' flexibility. To aid enterprises with post-quantum compliance, Arqit released Encryption Intelligence, an automated finding tool. Risks and Uncertainties Even if the cooperation is a turning point, Arqit warned investors of potential risks in its forward-looking remarks. Any of these could affect its Nasdaq listing, information technology systems, regulated tech sector competition, and intellectual property enforcement. The company warns that outcomes may differ from forecasts and new risks may arise.
