so mel is an only child, grew up with her mother until she was about 12, when her father got outta jail. she has a relatively good relationship with her parents, and she’s especially close with her dad, who is a high ranking king pin in the phoenix drug ring.
she’s one of the only people in her circle of friends who graduated ---- most of them started working for her father or moved away to find a better life.
mel’s been working at ludwig’s auto shop for three years now, and just a few months ago she got promoted to head mechanic!!! she loves cars, she understands mechanics more than she does people, honestly.
uhhh she had a boyfriend in high school, his name’s shakir they used to be the IT couple, and he was trying to break through in the rap scene. unfortunately, the rap game isn’t very lit in phoenix, so it was a miracle when he finally got signed to def jam. a few months later, he was moving out to la to pursue his dreams. they tried to make it work, but shakir started ghosting her and eventually news came out that he was cheating on her with some instagram model, so naturally melody freaked out, broke up with him, and closed herself up for good.
she was always kind of a bubbly, funny person, and that part of her remains, but she barely lets anyone in past that funny, acquaintance stage of friendship. she keeps most people at a distance, and tries to avoid shakir most of the time. that obviously doesnt work though because tmz found her about six months ago, and so did his fans. she’s got a little bit of a social media following because of that, but she hates it because she’s a very private person and she just wants to move on from him but can’t as she gets questions about him like, every single day.
apart from that, she knows what she likes and dislikes in life, and is very ambitious. so like, she can come off as kind of judgemental at times, but it’s all in good faith.
