Groove-soaked and blissfully offbeat.
Love this track's gentle, blues-inflected guitar licks, the subtle organ hums and Sky Saxon’s striking vocal performance, fragile and full of quiet ache.

The Centurys - Hard Times 1966 (60s Garage)
The Century's - Hard Times - 60s Garage Rock n Roll. The Century's were a 60s garage band from Pennsylvania. Their 1966 song Hard Times is an uptempo song that most garage music aficionados will find appealing.

 °Bye Bye °
1966 Garage Punk Lost Gem from California
This band started life in Lompoc, California and released a 45 as The Ban on Brent. They were comprised of:Â
Tony McGuire (guitar, vocals), Oliver McKinney (keyboards), Frank Straight (bass) and Randy Gordon (drums)
’Bye Bye’ written by Tony McGuire is a great teen punker with eerie organ and tambourine frills and an amateurish guitar break.
Hear it on Garage Beat Volume 1.
Tony McGuire left the band soon after to be replaced by David Zandonatti. They relocated to Los Angeles and changed their name from The Ban to The Now and signed for Embassy Records.

The Heart Beats - “Satisfied” We Had the Beat! The Heart Beats & Other Texas Girls of the 60s Song released in 1969. Compilation released in 1998. Garage Pop
The Heart Beats are pioneers. They were one of the first all-female rock bands in the world and were based out of Lubbock, Texas. They gained nationwide attention in 1968 when they won the battle of the bands on ABC’s Happening 68, which was hosted by Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere and the Raiders. And they were merely just a group of high school-aged teenagers who formed a garage band.
All praise goes to lead singer Linda Sanders for this one, and for the rest of the Heart Beats' recordings for that matter. It's awesome that she kind of helped pave the way for other all-girl rock bands to sprout up, though I dunno how many people are actually aware that the Heart Beats ever existed. But she could've most likely killed it in the 80s and 90s with the advent of things like shoegaze and indie and twee pop. Sanders doesn't have much range, but her voice is so soft, hushed, and dreamlike that you can't help but think that maybe she came around about 20 years too early, when she would've fit so perfectly within a certain, already established niche.
A sweet and sentimental piece of late 60s garage pop, courtesy of this trailblazing group of girls. Dig that simple and fluffy keyboard melody, too, which, along with the backing vocals, only enhances the dreamlike quality of this awesome tune.

The Strangers. Fever. 60's Garage/Rock n Roll
The earliest known photo of The Stooges (at the time known as The Psychedelic Stooges) from late 1967 or early 1968. Iggy was notorious for performing with white paint on his face and wearing smocks onstage.Â
