Ostara is the Germanic goddess of spring and dawn. Other names for her include Eostre and Easter. (Fun fact - her name comes from Eos, the Hellenic goddess of dawn, and many Asatru - followers of the Norse pantheon - believe her to be a representation of Freya.)

In the UK, many schools are run by religious organizations such as the Church of England and the Catholic Church but are funded by the government. Legally, faith based schools must leave 50 percent of their places open to children of all religions but can select students of the school’s faith for the other 50 percent. 

However, the Roman Catholic Church is pressuring the British Government to remove the cap and allow schools to discriminate against students of minority religions, including pagans, by selecting 100% of their pupils based on religion. The RCC is refusing to open new Catholic schools unless the cap is removed, even though most Catholic Britons support the caps.

Pagan children will be especially discriminated against, as they are a minority religion and do not have a sufficiently large enough population to establish faith-based schools of their own.
