Geodude, Graveler, Golem. From Brock giving you the first taste of a gym battle to the glory of the alolan form's rocky beard, they've been unremarkable but solid. They're numerous as geodude, "There are plenty of them to be found along any road. A scholar with too much free time once counted a hundred of them along a single route." Which continues to confirm that the moon pokedex was written by a sassy child, which I adore. They generally ignore anything too large to shove in thier mouth, but will start throwing rocks at people who trip over it. Graveler and Golem are significantly more rare due to thier love of rolling down mountains. They're hard to annoy but have no sense of self preservation, and will happily keep striking until it's time to blow if angered. I like to think the larger chunks which break off graveler and golem form into into clones of themselves. The Alolan forms are similar to normal, but more territorial and tend to form clans. They don't roll as much as the others, but the infighting between clans keeps thier numbers in check similarly. Here are a few example encounters. - The clash of two large graveler clans booms throughout the valley. They wake to an avalance of geodude tumbling down the hill, hungry for magnetic metals like iron. - A cult of elemental earth has unleashed have been growing geodude at alarming rates. Even without the dangerous tripping hazards, the locals are worried about them growing into graveller soon. A volley of explosives rumbling into town would mean thier doom for sure. - A local golem loves tumbling down the mountain towards town every few days, smashing into trees like bowling pins. Soon the trees will give way to houses. (If the party's not up to fighting it, have a farmer want to dig deep channels to redirect it away from town. They would just need to defend him from wildlife in the meantime, of course) -A druidic circle has decided to rip out the roots of their deforestation problem, allying with an Alolan Golem by promising it the city's metal. Now it launches volleys of rocks and geodude over the walls, tearing at it from the inside. The mayor tasks the party with getting rid of it, any way they can.
