5 Centimeters Per Second
There's no way we could meet. But one thing is certain. If we see each other, we'll know. That you were the one who was inside me. That I was the one who was inside you.

Morning Study Music
I made a late night study music video recently and thought it would be nice to have one for the morning. It should sound familiar to everyone (I borrowed a theme from classical music). I hope you guys like it!

Media: Anime Film 5 Centimeters per Second
From the great artistic mind of Makoto Shinkai, 5 Centimeters per Second is one deep and beautiful film that just breaks your heart by the time you are finished watching it. The movie has three segments (or referred to as episodes) 桜花抄 Ōkashō (Cherry Blossom), コスモナウト Kosumonauto (Cosmonaut), and 秒速5センチメートル Byōsoku Go Senchimētoru (5 Centimeters per Second). The film isn’t really that long, with a runtime of 63 minutes.
Without spoiling too much specifics (for those that have not seen it yet), Takaki Toono is the central character throughout all three of the episodes. In the first act, it is shown that he is very close with a girl from elementary school, Akari Shinohara. Unfortunately they were separated from each another when Akari transferred to another region of Japan due to her family's job. Despite the separation, they continue to keep in touch through mail (this took place during a time when cellphones weren’t common yet). They decide to both meet one last time before saying their farewells to one another. They do wish to meet again in the future, but as years pass by, their long distance contact slowly fades away.
Another character named, Kanae Sumida, comes into the mix at the 2nd episode, where she develops a love interest for Takaki. This part of the film already takes place during Takaki’s senior year, and Akari is out of the picture. He is good friends with Kanae and even walks home with her. This part really just focused on Kanae struggles to confess her feelings, while Takaki is still thinking about Akari who is very far away from him despite.
The third and final episode goes back to Takaki and Akari’s estranged relationship as this takes place many years into their adulthood. This basically serves as the epilogue for everything that has happened in the movie. The ending gives us a reality that just made them both to move on with their lives.
Overall this movie was very beautiful, and the animation was crazy impressive for 2007. Literally every frame you see in this movie can literally be made for your desktop wallpaper. This was Makoto Shinkai’s 2nd animated feature before making more masterpieces and released his big hit Your Name in 2016.
This film reminds us that we should always treasure the happy moments we have with some because it might not last forever. Takaki & Akari always tried remembered one another and the times they have shared together, despite going their own separate paths. Valentine’s Day is coming, and some of you may have special someone that you hold dear to your heart. Remember to cherish every loving moment you have. Anything can happen in this life, and you never really know if you’ll be with that person forever. 5 Centimeters per Second is on Crunchyroll (both subbed and dubbed). If you want to watch some heavy slice of life heartbreak scenery, definitely give this movie a watch!
