well I ended up buying the aramco laptop since the seller sent me an offer for $30. initial findings:
itās not a corporate device itās just this guyās personal hardware. so good news Iām not being sent to Saudi gigajail for accessing proprietary petroleum data
itās nicer than I expected, like, this is a delightful contraption
Itās not ācan daily drive this in 2024ā nice like a thinkpad but this was probably hot stuff when it came out in 2005. It was clearly still useful for a long while after that - thereās files on here (sorry Greg) dating from 2014. I restored it to factory settings (youāre welcome Greg) and sadly āfactory settingsā means an absurd amount of bloatware. That said the highly skeuomorphic Cingular WWAN manager is staying just for the novelty
also it has exterior facing media controls so you can operate it without the display as a walkman lol
(unfortunately the cd drive is toast so I canāt test it)
