A little less than a year ago, I was at the WV State Capital with some of my favorite people to help support to teachers as they fought for adequate health insurance for ALL state employees and a small raise for themselves. Now, the teachers are having to fight AGAINST the raise they won because of the deleterious strings attached to it. President Trump has said in the past that unions like him, so one would expect that he would have tweeted about the successful West Virginia teachers’ union strike. After all, he tweets all the time! Alas, he has not tweeted about this at all. But I did find an archived tweet about a different strike. It’s actually his only twitter take about an ongoing strike.
I do understand that one’s range of opinions should not be defined solely by their twitter history. However, this is one of many examples of Trump’s anti-unionism.
I’m sure you know people who think Trump is a great friend to unions. If this information helps you remind them that he is not, feel free to share it with them.
