tessavirtue17: Prepare for sensory overload 💭 This journal entry was from 2017 in anticipation of the pre-Olympic test event in PyeongChang, Korea. Can’t help but think of how the 2022 Olympic athletes have been preparing … and the cumulative effect of everything taking shape as they make their way to Beijing. Seeing the rings will always be magical. Ps so many references to @mikaelkingsbury scattered throughout my notebooks 👑 #fromthearchive #trainingdiary #lifeofanathlete #olympics

"rika kihira" - best/most impressive emergency layout change?
If someone is the best at changing layouts during the program it's the one and only Yuzuru Hanyu! Yuzu is the first that comes to my mind and he had many impressive emergency layouts in the past. It's hard to chose, BUT the one that still struck me the most to this day is the emergency layout at 4CC 2017 free skate.
He changed 3 passes from his original layout after having missed the 2nd 4S!
3A2T > 3A3T
3A1Lo3S > 4T2T
3Lz > 3A renamed the #yoloaxel by the fans
Yuzu actually wrote history as being the first skater to challenge a 3A as his last jumping pass in a free skate. And he also managed to still have 4 quads in his program despite popping one of his quads.
Here you go with my favorite part of the program the #yoloaxel!

It really is a tour of their greatest hits
Beautiful up close.
