#41k

I'm into week 3 of Novel November, and I've managed to keep up with the pace. Miraculous! This is much more than I've ever tried to write consistently before, and it's getting tough now. But I'm this far through so I want to see it to the end now. XD

I'm now 41k into my draft (including what I wrote in October) and I'm cursing past me for not providing enough detail to make the writing easy. I honestly thought I had planned everything out with heaps of detail, but no. *laughs madly* I think I'm approaching the half way point, or at least 1/3, and it's slow going. But I really want to see if I can even do this. The longest thing I've written so far is 22k, and the next longest only 8k, so this is completely new to me.

Mind of Stone

Louis gingerly moves around the statues, trying not to look at their faces. The room is quiet, probably a basement from the low ceiling. He mentally curses when he doesn’t see a door leading outside.

He checks his phone and gawks that it’s no longer early into Saturday night, but well into Sunday morning. He’s lost almost twelve hours, and he really doesn’t know how that’s possible.

He needs to find a way back home, and then figure out what the fuck happened at the bar tonight.

Marchioner Rodney McKay-Sheppard most certainly does not have the constitution for such treacherous, and fearsome work, but he does what he can to support the cause. A brilliant a scientist, Rodney designed the cryptography system the Falcon uses to keep messages between the Falcon and his allies secure from prying Genii eyes. It has remained maddeningly impervious to any Genii attempts to crack it, while the Genii’s own cyphers are easily broken and laid bare by him.

If only his marriage to the Marquis John Sheppard was as simple for him to solve as the Genii codes.
