con·tin·u·um /kənˈtinyo͞oəm/ • noun • a continuous sequence in which adjacent elements are not perceptibly different from each other, although the extremes are quite distinct. • July 31 was my last day at #395vanbrunt. I swept the floors, grabbed a few miscellaneous items, and said, “goodbye”. You might think after 4 years (our first year as a store was actually across the street at #416vanbrunt) I would be more sentimental about being there for the last time. The truth is, I wanted to move long before the COVID-19 shutdown, that just gave me the push I needed. I loved my little shop at #395vanbrunt, but we outgrew it. When something is working and comfortable, it’s scary to think about risking that comfort for a better situation. In a weird turn of events, I was forced to make a decision that I feel will ultimately benefit the brand. • I wanted to share one last shot from the closing and express my deepest gratitude to anyone who visited us, covered us, shopped with us, and to those who never had the chance to visit, but supported from afar – thank you. • For those wondering what’s next, keep an eye out here. It will be an exciting challenge operating as an “online only” shop. If anyone wants to help, shoot me a DM – seriously. Running the physical store was always second nature. It felt completely intuitive. Running an e-comm business is a totally different beast and I don’t want to front like I know it all. Aside from the web-shop, I have some special projects coming up that I am excited about. More on those soon. Last, but certainly not least, trust that I have every intention of opening a bigger and better store whenever that makes sense. In the meantime, I hope you will continue to follow along and support Wooden Sleepers through this strange time. ✌🏼 – Brian #woodensleepers #redhook #395vanbrunt #416vanbrunt (at WOODEN SLEEPERS) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDcmiEfhm_Z/?igshid=1sayisyk9lesj
