400 blows surprised and impressed me a lot. I haven’t watched anything of Truffaut before, so I didn’t know what to expect. I thought it would be kind of tough to get through, but I wasn’t bored one second while watching it.
The movie included a lot of beautiful shots by DoP Henry Decaë. The dialogue was snappy, sarcastic and smart. Jean-Pièrre Leoud is a phenomenal child actor. I’m looking forward to watching the sequels.
