Running Update
The workout today was 16x400m. Aka DEATH. But the paces were manageable and I was able to drop 10 sec on the last one, which is really encouraging. Also I was in such a bad mood today (depression maybe?) but then after the run I felt *tony the tiger voice* grrrreat! I literally think I just killed all the sadness I had with that workout. Or at least I left it on the track

4/23 We warned up with four laps on the track, stretched, and did drills. The workout was to run a workout designed to mimic a mile at race pace. It was to do two sets of 200, three 400's, and another 200. The 200's were to be run at 36, and the 400's at 85. I didn't get the times, but the 200's were probably on pace. I got the times for the 400's and we did them a bit too too fast. First set of 400's were 78,81, and around 85. Second set was all between 82 and sub 80. Then we ran a loop out back (aprox. 1 mile) cool down.

4/15 We warmed up by running around the school for about 10 minutes (it was raining outside), did drills and stretched. The workout today was two sets of 8-4-8. For the first set I ran a 3:55 800, had a 5 minute rest, a 84 400, a 2 minute rest, and a 3:04 800 (was a little slower because I was tired). Then we had a full 10 minute rest as a recovery. The second set was much worse. 3:00 800, a 5 minute rest, a 90 400 (I was at least 10 seconds behind the top girls) with a two minute rest, and a 3:15 800, I was at least 15 seconds behind the top runners. I guess I just mentally gave up, I surrendered to the tiredness. Next practice will be better. (Sidenote: This is probably a result of yesterday's practice, of not warming up or stretching, and then immediately sprinting up hills...my calves feel incredibly tight! It even hurts to walk or bend my legs! I really have to stretch them out to try and get rid of the tightness)
just came back from 4 days of neon benched from track and yesterday was my first day back and I thought my coach would give me an easy run and then a hard workout but I was wrong! everyone else on distance did 3X1200and then 3-4X400's and then 20 min cool down. but he went with me and was like " no Christina your not doing that workout, we are doing 10X400!" I was so dead afterwards because he ran them with me to pace me!! and today I went on a nice 1h and 10 min run with my friend grace and we ran such a hilly trail and we got to run through about 3 streams which felt so nice because it was warm today! but now i just finished stretching and now and currently running on a runners high😵 how was everyone's runs today???
