Four Layer Dessert
This is a favorite recipe of the Crossen clan. Passed down from Great Grandma Marvell Crossen, through Grandma Marilyn Crossen.
1st Layer:
1/2 c butter (one stick), melted
1/2 c pecan, chopped
1 c flour
Mix and pat into a 9 X 13 inch baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool until cold.
2nd Layer:
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c powdered sugar
1 c whipped cream topping
Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy. Add whipped cream. Spread on cooled flour mixture. Chill.
3rd Layer:
2 pkgs. instant chocolate pudding
3 c milk
Beat 3 minutes with mixer. Spread over cream cheese layer. Cool.
4th Layer:
whipped cream topping
Spread 1-2 c whipped cream on top. Sprinkle with chopped nuts of your choice.
Alternate Version:
Lemon pudding or other favorite flavor may be used in place of chocolate.
Brown sugar (1/4 c) may be added to first layer.
One container of Cool Whip may be used instead of whipped cream topping.
