To Anyone Who Is Contemplating The Loc Journey...this is the first time in a while that I have done a length comparison from when I first loc'd my hair. Obviously, this didn't happen over night. I took this picture 3 years ago. I remember when I first got them, all I wanted for them to do was hurry up and grow out so that I wouldn't look like a scarecrow lol! Through my loc journey, I have learned the value of patience, endurance, and cherishing the very things that God gave me. I started researching about healthy hair growth and implementing those healthy hair practices and my locs took off with growth faster than my head could spin. In fact, when I simply focused on the restoration of my hair's health, that's when I started noticing the rapid growth...meaning when I simply started taking care of the overall health of my hair, my hair took care of all the rest! My loc care regimen includes: -ACV & baking soda soak and rinse, followed by a black soap shampoo once a month -retwist every other month -daily moisturize and scalp massage with my homemade loc oil (I use a 12 oz. bottle to hold my oil and it lasts me up to 4-6 months!!!) -brush locs with soft bristled brush from root to end once every two weeks. -I wear a satin dread sock EVERY night...NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! -little to NO manipulation of my locs. (I will style them in curls every now and then, but I try to seldom style my locs in styles that require a lot of twisting and pulling. I generally leave them alone and let them hang freely on their own. That's why my edges are so thick and full. Your locs WILL grow if you leave them be and not be so pre-occupied with the growth process...a watched pot NEVER boils! #locqueen #trusttheprocess #3yearslocd #bestdecisionevermade🎆🎊🎉
