Additionally, Josh repeatedly talks about needing Congressional support, so she would be so easy to include on the trip to Manchester anyway. And we know that CJ has a canon tendency to sleep with someone she trusts when she's emotionally wrung out, so I do think a fic where CJ calls Andy after the Haiti gaffe would be very very fun.
God and then every moment of frustration and isolation CJ has been put through in this episode all leads up to "the President was relieved" and it's done so well, Allison Janney acts it perfectly, and you know it's coming and it rips your heart out to see how it hits her.
The way she is looking down at her podium even on stage, already knowing how deeply she fucked up just now, when the journalists are still yelling questions at her even more than before. Toby and Sam meeting in the hallway just in shambles because how could she say that? The way CJ enters the hallway already on the damn edge and sees them and it's the last thing she needs. That desperate "please don't say anything for a moment" until she slams her fist against the wall and you can hear she's on the verge of tears.
I love that while Sam and Toby start talking to her first, they shut up and don't try again after. They let her walk away, there's no trying to stop her, they know better. Toby knows better, because the whole time Sam is looking from CJ to Toby like he's waiting to see what he needs to do.
And they're so mad at her and so frustrated with this fuck up and still when Leo and Josh are so angry and yelling about it, Toby and Sam are the first to start moving on and say she's tired and misspoke and dammit what did anyone expect.

I know they're talking about her resignation, but every time Toby tells her "I know what you're thinking about doing", I think suicide attempt. And frankly, other than it not being that kind of show, if CJ had tried to kill herself during these four months I would not have been totally surprised.
In the TWWW episode on this episode they mentioned that the shots of CJ on television while the rest are in the bullpen and offices are so purposefully done to show that isolation even better, and it works so well. Josh and Joey talking about CJ and the story getting away from her while you see CJ on screen, in her little box where she can't hear or see the rest of her team, getting hounded by questions. I love that she still finds the moment to make a little joke when someone asks what her relationship with Jed is and she says "oh just good friends, Katie", but oh then she snaps a response to another question and you can see how much this is already costing her and it's only gonna get worse.
Nancy first initiating the applause in the situation room and then later telling Leo "I was proud of our boy" really is a beautiful thing. I love the little moments we see of the relationship between the three of them.
