Programming the 2D surfaces is taking a bit longer than I’d hoped, in part for the reason shown in this screenshot. This is a union of three circles. It’s a situation that doesn’t really occur with 3D shapes (solids). When 3D shapes are added together, some surfaces of one shape may be hidden inside another shape. There is no intention that surfaces that are inside a solid will ever be seen, so those triangles are never even created and therefore not drawn.
In the case of 2D shapes, on the other hand, you may want to show the boundaries between two or more shapes when you add them together. This sort of accommodation requires some additional logic that isn’t present in the case of 3D shapes, such as cubes, spheres, etc.
Some adjustment is clearly still needed to the algorithm that actually calculates the points in the plane.
