He went to Bed with a Cold in his head,

He won’t get up ‘till Morning.

You hate falling asleep with no background noise, it’s too quiet, makes your mind too loud and overlap with unbearable thoughts. 

So you don’t mind it when he starts to snore, letting the rhythmic heartbeat fill your ears when you lay your head on his chest. If anything, the sounds bring you comfort. It grounds you, drapes you in a blanket of security and familiarity.

Of course he snores, his nose never healed quite right, never reset it correctly after getting it broken time and time again. It’s really not his fault, but you’re grateful for the steady rumble it produces with every rise and fall of his chest.

You’re grateful for him.

God, it truly is the small things in life. What would you do without him?
