Adobe Lightroom PC vol 2: CPU
I'm big fan of AMD. Mainly because of emotional reasons. They try disrupt, but Intel is strong and not sleeping at all. My first choice was AMD FX8350, 8.physical core powerhouse. Still, my PC assembling company didn't like my idea, as my other requirement was small and discreet case. AMD FX8350 runs hot and needs good cooling. In such small case it will be noisy. So they suggested Intel i7 3770S 3,1Ghz, employing 4 physical and 4 virtual cores. It's based on 22nm technology, draws just 65Watts. AMD uses older 32nm tech and emits 125 Watts, what is about twice of Intel's heat emission.
Passmark shows about the same performance for both. Despite of difference of 123 € in favour of AMD (320€ for Intel versus 195€ for AMD), I still listened experts and we configured our PC based on Intel i7 3770S 3,1Ghz CPU.
