I like to be pretty mundane with my pictures and posts most of the time so as to not worry people, but on day 287 of #365daysofkitchenwitchery I had a pretty intense experience at our grove meeting. It put me in touch with something I don’t often work with and provoked an extreme emotional reaction. Which is fun. So coming home it became necessary to burn some incense for reasons. And sometimes it’s just good to embrace the whole ‘witch’ look. It can help you tap into the fact that what you’re doing isn’t mundane, but an intentional magical act. So. Today we have a smoking mini cauldron. V hot and sticky on day 182 of #365daysofkitchenwitchery so frankly impossible to do a lot of cooking. Luckily, we still have leftover pizza crust, sauce and toppings. So once it was dusk we made another pizza. It may not be the most thrilling thing, but it’s tasty and the oven only needs to be on for about 20 minutes including pre-heating so it’s do-able in this weather. And yes, we put pineapple on the pizza because we like it. I know it’s not for everyone but I’m happy to put fruit on pretty much anything, particularly in this weather. #cooking #kitchenwitchery #spirituality #pagan

Look how pretty Edward’s offspring is on day 180 of #365daysofkitchenwitchery as it waits to become that finest of foods, pizza. Being sourdough it needs to rise overnight but tomorrow the #lovelyhugsand and I will be indulging in some fancy as fuck pizza. At lunchtime on day 217 of #365daysofkitchenwitchery I participated in a great British tradition. Fish and chips by the seaside. And it was delicious. Of course here it’s enhanced by the sound of general folk music all around, and it was followed by the ‘Sidmouth Horse Trials’, a competition of Morris dancing hobby horses. Because nonsense. So. The reward of a long week on day 138 of #365daysofkitchenwitchery as Ben and I got takeaway curry! So delicious. And of course we ordered too much so now we have leftovers which is the best way to start a weekend. We’ve got a lot to get done this weekend so it’s nice to know we have a stash of delicious food in the house. And as much as I like to cook, sometimes I just don’t have the energy. Of course, part of being a sophisticated foodie like wot I am is making the perfect food and drink pairings. Hence the very fancy cobra beer. Making soup for the week on day 168 of #365daysofkitchenwitchery and I had to take a picture of this as the cashews posed so beautifully for me. This is carrot tops cooked with cashews and miso and once blended with the roasted spiced carrots they came from will make a delicious creamy and satisfying soup for this week’s lunches. I know it’s hardly the weather for hot soup but I’m basically fixated on this method at the moment (roast leftover veg, blend with softened nuts, stock and any greens you have hanging around and there you have it). It makes for a rich texture, a good dose of veg and a great lunch that doesn’t make me want to go to sleep at my desk (which h is a miracle I itself). It’s basically the perfect combination and I’m not sick of it yet. Which is pretty much magic as far as I’m concerned. #kitchenwitchery #cooking #vegan #pagan #spirituality

Starting yet another booze project on day 149 of #365daysofkitchenwitchery and this time it’s rhubarb wine. It’s still seasonal and hopefully will become part of my regular rotation. I’ve pretty much discovered that when I drink my homemade booze I don’t seem to get hangovers. Which is almost unprecedented for me as I’ve been having stinkers since I started drinking (don’t ask when that was). It might be the lack of preservatives, it might be the care, attention and intention I use making the stuff, it might be dumb luck. Day 145 of #365daysofkitchenwitchery and we’re with my family celebrating my Mum’s birthday (which was in January, but who wants a holiday then?). We weren’t able to all be together until after 10pm so I decided to make a few little simple canapés for when they arrived. Because I’m extra.
